Allyson Felix
Allyson Michel Felix was born on 18 November 1985 in Los Angeles. Paul Felix served as an ordained minister within Sun Valley at Master's Seminary. Marlean Felix taught at Balboa Magnet. Felix was a natural athlete and discovered her love for sprinting during her time at Los Angeles Baptist High School. Within 10 weeks of her initial tryout, she placed in second place in the 200 meter event during the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix completed her high school education and was signed to a pro-contract to Adidas. In 2004, she was enrolled at her first year at the University of Southern California, which is where she studied elementary education. Felix won her first Olympic Medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics held in Athens Greece. She set the Junior World Record running 200 metres in 22.18 second. The 2005 Helsinki World Championships saw her become the youngest woman to be crowned the winner of the 200-meter race. In 2007, she won this title and beat her Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix was consistently in the top three in all of her races in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro Tokyo.
